Ranger secondary?
Ok, necro idea was a bust =/
So, PvP ranger? Like..disruptor/poisoner, what would be a good secondary for that? I was thinking monk, but then i thought if im in a group, i wont need to heal myself anyway. So i just dont know. Opinions? |

I would actually go with a secondary Mesmer.
While Expertise doesn't help with most Mesmer skills, they can be very useful for adding a little "spice" to your strategies and giving you many more teamwork options and defensive choices. For example, if you are running out of energy too quickly during fights, a few inspiration spells will give you more energy than you could possibly need. Handy little spells like Backfire would also work great. Slap an interrupt on that Caster, then slap on Backfire while your interrupt recharges = awesome casting block. Mesmers have lots of useful spells that can really come in handy in a PvP fight. |

be a ranger/elementalist, that way you can have lots of damage, and you can mix a conjure lightning/fire/ice with barrage to do more damage.

The search function is very valuable. IMO the only viable ranger secondaies are ME, MO, and N. Elementalist is nice for the conjure, but it's really not that much more damage, and it requires you to waste attribute points in a line that you dont use for anything else. Mesmer can allow you to use Echo(E) on Debilitating Shot, Monk can allow you to do some minor healing or protection, along with a res, and Necro has some really tricky spells to shutdown warriors and increase your own damage. Some like warrior also so they can be more of a trapper/melee type build, but I've never experienced or examined those closely.

Enervating Charge is decent. Better with a Earth/Air Elementalist who can cast stoning afterwards. I don't know of a spell called Hurricane. Whirlwind is is decent. Gale once again casuses exhaustion, so if you hit gale and Chain Lightning your down to nearly 0 mana. All three of these spells have a 10 energy cost or cause exhausttion. I would hate for you to waste energy on one of these, over a 2 energy distracting shot or 4 energy debilitating shot. |

I don't really care about exhaustion, I rarely have any problems with that. I meant Whirlwind btw, just forgot the name, and I don't really care that they are all 10 energy cost spells, I don't use enrgy for much else besides poison arrow. |
